Planned Social Events

Friday 8th February – Burns Supper (at URC Hall)

March 2019 date tba – Recital by Mark and Janina Duncan

Thursday 11th May – Organ Recital by Dr Robert Fowler

Sunday 23rd December – the Ecumenical Carol Service.  The rector and congregation of St Michaels were joined by many most welcome members of other churches in Helensburgh for a candlelit service of readings and advent carols, all in good voice, and as you can see well illuminated.  The service was followed by refreshments in the hall. We were also joined by a special guest; the ‘teabag angel’ who added imposingly to the many and wonderful Crib Scenes set out in the church, come and see them up to the 9th December in the church.

A service with a difference.  St Michaels held a Pets Blessing on Saturday 10th November, here are some participants!

A week in St Michaels – October 2018

 

Saturday – The St Michael’s ramblers had a perfect day on the shores of Loch Katrine. Three of the senior ramblers and a four legged friend stop by the shores of the loch

In the evening, the City of Glasgow Chorus and their organist gave a wonderful concert to a full church

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

and on Sunday, 2 Kneelers were dedicated

and James and Sue Ashby’s 10th wedding anniversary was blessed by the Rev. Dom Ind

 

 

 

 

 

 

and at 8.50am on Saturday the sun poured its rays through the Vessica window and gave the Chancel a magic moment captured by Chris Packard

 

Harvest Festival 2018

Desert Island Discs, an MU event on Friday 5th October.  Michael and Rosemary Wilson presented by Joan Thompson gave us a wonderful evening of music chosen by them and anecdotes from their lives.

Revd Dom Ind gave a Blessing for Judith Adams on Sunday 16th September 2018 as she prepared for her move away from Helensburgh, we, the congregation, thank her for your friendship, unstinting support and faith with us here, and wish you god speed and Christian fellowship on your move to Melrose.  You will stay in our prayers.
