THE CHOIR
The Choir provides music at the 10:15am and 6:30pm services and other special services as required. The music ranges from traditional chant settings of psalms and the canticles through to modern hymns, and most things in between. From time to time we supplement this with anthems and festival settings.
The Choir meets for practice most Thursday evenings in the Church Hall.
The choir is looking for some new members. We are particularly looking for Sopranos, Altos and children (boys and girls from the age of 7). Children can still attend their group on a Sunday morning during the service and will, eventually, have their own choir practice from 6.30pm to 7.30pm on Thursday evenings. Currently the choir rehearses on Thursday evenings from 7.30pm to 8.30pm. The choir sings at both the morning Eucharist and at Evensong, often singing the
Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis to a setting and an anthem. You do not need to be a professional singer: all you need is an enjoyment of singing (even just a little bit). In return you will learn a lot about music and will enjoy the social life of the choir. Of course, some commitment
is needed, but it is well worth the effort! Now is a good time of the year to join as the choir has just finished its summer break and, of course, Christmas is just around the corner.
