It was highly apt in St Michael’s on Mothering Sunday, that we had a dedication of our new tree votive stand, which is now in the prayer corner next to the font. This is a generous gift by Lorna & George Douglas, given to St Michael’s in memory of their late son, Maurie. The candle stand is there to be used before, during or after any service; a tool to help us pray, particularly when words fail us.
May this tree votive stand bring light to all those who wish to use it.
Here are some images from the Service; Dom dedicated our new votive tree with Lorna looking on, Sammy offering us some insightful and amusing thoughts on Motherhood, children of the congregation presenting flowers to . . all the mothers present, some of whom are shown here, and you may well remark Doms rather special stole for Mothering Sunday, from Peru!
