Intercessions for Sunday 21st March 2021

Intercessions – Year B – Lent 5 (Passiontide begins)

Intercessor: Richard Smith

Let us pray that Christ shall be glorified in the Church and in the world.

The response to “God of our salvation” is “We trust in your promise.”

You come to meet us, O Lord, long before we search for you. Make your Church gateway to encountering your presence and glory. Guard and guide Kevin, our Bishop, Dom, our Rector, and Kevin our Lay Reader.

Silence

May we show forth your love and always direct hearts to you.

God of our salvation- We trust in your promise.

You come to meet us, O Lord, amidst the struggles and tensions of life.

Give all people courage to stand for justice and peace. Grant parliaments and Governments in Westminster and Holyrood grace and wisdom to judge wisely in the responsibilities of their offices. Let people judge the performance of the parties fairly and inspire them to take part in the coming general election.

Silence

Bring in your Kingdom of truth and liberty.

God of our salvation- We trust in your promise.

You come to meet us, O Lord, in moments of faithfulness and failure.

Give us grace to confront the darkness within and to embrace your new life. Grant doctors and nurses and all medical and care staff grace and peace in their labours at this time of plague. Let all leaders deal kindly and caringly with each other in this pandemic.

Silence

Help victims and offenders to be set free from all that burdens them.

God of our salvation- We trust in your promise.

You come to meet us, O Lord, in strength and weakness.

As you shared our frailty, give comfort to all in distress or adversity. Help all those suffering from coronavirus to find healing.

Silence

In all our infirmity we share in your passion.

God of our salvation- We trust in your promise.

You come to meet us, O Lord, in your cross and resurrection.

Draw to yourself all who have died, especially all those we now bring to mind.

Silence

As we sing the praise of him who died, so may we come to triumph in Victory.

God of our salvation- We trust in your promise.

You come to meet us, O Lord and we ask that you hear our silent supplications.

Silence

Merciful Father, accept these prayers for the sake of your Son, our saviour Jesus Christ.Amen
